Open Access Policy

The Journal of Mountain Research (J. Mountain Res.) follows a full open access publishing model, ensuring that all published articles are freely assessible to readers immediately upon publication, without any subscription or access fee.

Users are permitted to read, download, copy, distribute, and use the content for lawful academic purposes with proper attribution. This policy aligns with the Budapest Open Access Initiative (BOAI) .

Authors retain copyright of their work and grant the journal the right of publication. All articles are published under the Creative Commons CC BY 4.0 License , allowing unrestricted use, distribution, and reproduction with proper citation.

Publication Charges

The Journal of Mountain Research (ISSN: 0974-3030) is the official publication of the Society. It is mandatory that at least one author of each manuscript is a member of the Society.

The journal operates on a no profit, no loss basis. A nominal publication charge is applicable after acceptance:

• Indian Authors: (Indian Rupees) ₹4000 per manuscript
• For Rest of world: USD 70 per manuscript

These charges cover:

• Editorial processing and peer review management
• Journal production
• Online hosting and long-term archiving
• Abstracting and indexing services
• Online distribution and content aggregation
• Assignment of Digital Object Identifier (DOI)
• Technical maintenance and support
